B20/VTEC Build up [Page > 1 2 3 ]

Now that the head is assembled on the block, you need to finish the oil feed to the head by removing the copper plug on the backside of the head. The easiest way is the use a torch to heat up the plug. There is no other way to get it out.
While the plug is hot, use an allen wrench and pry bar to remove the plug. Be careful not to strip it. Once removed, clean the hole and surrounding area.
Using Teflon tape/paste, install the 3/8 NPT fitting into the head. We used another -4AN adapter fitting to allow us to fit the braided line to the head since it needs to go from 3/8" NPT to -4AN.
Now you can go ahead and attach the braided line to the back of the block using the 1/8"NPT to -4AN adapter, again using Teflon. Then attach the other end to the fitting the back of the head. Be sure to angle the TEE fitting so the braided line does not interfere with the oil filter.
Finally, attach the other end to the braided line to fitting the back of the head.
